Peruri Design Company has redefined the meaning of quiet luxury with a soulful full home renovation that merges rustic charm with refined elegance. What began as a chance encounter in a local sports bar led to the complete reimagining of a 1990s California French style residence. Captivated by the studio’s earlier work, the homeowners entrusted Peruri Design Company with the transformation of their home into a sanctuary rooted in timeless sophistication and everyday ease.

While maintaining the character of the French inspired exterior, the interiors were entirely reinvented. Ceilings were raised, passageways widened, and a softened colour palette introduced to maximize light and flow. Peruri Design Company envisioned a home that evokes an emotional response, grounded in warmth, yet elevated in detail.

The design features a distinctive interplay between tactile, rustic finishes and sculptural, refined elements. Custom millwork, jewel toned hues, and artisan crafted details, including stained glass and handmade tile, create a material language that feels deeply personal. A standout moment is the shared study just off the living room, where a bespoke stained glass sliding door designed with Oakland based artist Theodore Ellison offers both privacy and natural light. The recessed track, hidden within the floor, eliminates visible hardware and allows the artistry to take center stage.

In the kitchen, function and form come together around a large oxidized maple island with integrated seating. Rift sawn oak cabinetry, a custom plaster hood, and a handmade tile backsplash are paired with rustic ceiling beams to honour traditional craftsmanship with a modern edge.

Throughout the home, Peruri Design Company designed bespoke pieces, like the dramatic bed in the primary suite, that reflect their studio’s passion for scale, detail, and storytelling. The finished space feels layered, intentional, and deeply lived in, residential design at its most thoughtful.
