KSR Architects & Interior Designers has delivered a refined ground floor apartment within an ultra prime residential development in St John’s Wood, setting a new benchmark for lateral living in Westminster. Unit 4 forms part of a broader long term vision by KSR Architects & Interior Designers to transform a constrained and sensitive site at 72 to 74 Hamilton Terrace into a coherent multi unit scheme that maximises spatial quality and long term value.

For Unit 4, KSR Architects & Interior Designers set out to create a highly desirable ground floor residence that feels calm, private and distinctly house like. The lateral plan is carefully zoned, with strong axial planning and an intuitive flow that guides residents from arrival through to living and private spaces. Despite its apartment typology, the home feels generous and composed, offering a sense of ease more commonly associated with a standalone house.

A defining feature of the design is the relationship between interior and exterior. The open plan living and dining area opens directly onto a large private terrace and landscaped garden, extending the living space outdoors and allowing natural light to permeate the apartment. This direct connection to greenery is rare within Westminster and was treated by KSR Architects & Interior Designers as a central design element rather than an addition.

Internally, the layout balances openness with discretion. A formal arrival sequence incorporates a guest cloakroom and WC, with a dedicated study positioned off the entrance hall to support working from home without disrupting domestic life. The kitchen and pantry are designed as a separate, highly functional zone suited to both everyday use and entertaining.

The primary suite is conceived as a private retreat, complete with walk in wardrobe, bespoke joinery and a generously proportioned ensuite. Throughout the apartment, integrated built in furniture enhances storage and spatial clarity. With three metre ceiling heights and carefully considered proportions, KSR Architects & Interior Designers has created a home that feels both expansive and intimate, delivering quiet luxury through holistic architectural and interior design.
