MVD Interior Design was commissioned to create the interior of a newly built high-end villa on Curaçao, positioned to overlook the island’s iconic Tafelberg. The design vision was to craft a refined living environment where indoor and outdoor areas merge seamlessly, embodying timeless luxury, natural harmony, and the relaxed elegance of island life.

At the core of the concept was the integration of the villa with its surrounding landscape. Travertine tiles extend across the ground floor, staircase, and expansive terrace with pool, establishing visual unity and flow. Fully retractable folding doors in both the living area and kitchen dissolve boundaries between interior and exterior, immersing residents in the island’s tropical light and climate.

The interior palette balances dark wood tones with soft matte beige shades, further elevated by bespoke furniture and sophisticated finishes. Locally sourced stone elements introduce authenticity, while the recurring use of Taj Mahal natural stone in the entrance, kitchen, and master suite creates cohesion across the residence.

Key features include a sculptural staircase with integrated lighting and an indoor garden, a walk-in closet conceived as a luxurious centerpiece, and a freestanding bathtub on the private bedroom balcony, evoking the ambiance of a five-star resort. Each element was designed to provide a continuous sequence of striking impressions, uniting contemporary sophistication with Curaçao’s character.

The result is a timeless home where architecture, interior design, and nature coalesce. By extending materials indoors and outdoors, framing panoramic views of the Tafelberg, and balancing luxury with livability, MVD Interior Design has created a villa that embodies both grandeur and comfort in everyday life.
