The Niche Corner transformed a residence in Arabian Ranches 2, Dubai, into a serene retreat that balances countryside elegance with contemporary charm. The home was conceived as a calm, minimalist yet warm environment, offering a peaceful escape while reminding the clients of home. The renovation centred on a complete overhaul of the ground floor, involving significant structural changes to improve flow and functionality.

Walls were removed to create an open concept layout, allowing the kitchen to integrate seamlessly into the main living space. Part of the dining area was enclosed to form a refined and dedicated study, adding both purpose and balance to the plan. A defining feature of the project is the bespoke built in joinery, carefully designed to blend into the architecture rather than read as standalone furniture. Custom craftsmanship played a key role throughout the transformation.

The kitchen stands out as a focal point, characterised by harlequin flooring, panelled full windows and a statement cooker. Its impact lies in its simplicity, as the design avoids unnecessary gestures in favour of quiet confidence. Working with a neutral palette was approached as a considered risk, with the aim of allowing individual elements to shine without visual excess.

Natural light was maximised, supported by wooden elements across floors and ceilings, while keeping finishes at eye level restrained. Strong connections to the outdoors were prioritised, with investment in windows to create a seamless indoor and outdoor flow that keeps all elements complementary.
