Yasmin Alsdais Interiors delivered MUH Residence, a four floor, 3,900 sq m private home in Riyadh completed over three years. Conceived for a multi generational family of more than 15 members, the residence balances scale with intimacy, expression with comfort, and individuality with everyday functionality.

Inspired by the client’s family home in Marbella, the design explores the idea of moving through different atmospheres and eras within one property. Each floor and many individual rooms carry distinct identities drawn from classical references, while remaining highly functional and contemporary. Careful spatial planning ensures clear zoning, generous circulation and privacy, while layouts respect Saudi cultural requirements, particularly within the majlis spaces, which are subtly reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

A fully bespoke approach defines the project. Furniture, joinery, lighting, finishes and artworks were custom developed, with quality and craftsmanship prioritised throughout. The house functions almost as several residences in one, allowing the family to inhabit different spaces depending on season, mood or occasion.

The scale of execution was considerable, involving around 300 suppliers and more than 10,000 individual products. Strong collaboration and client trust enabled creative freedom, with materials and artisan work sourced internationally to avoid repetition.

Deeply rooted in Saudi culture yet internationally expressive, the residence responds to climate, lifestyle and tradition. Specialist craftsmanship ranges from Venetian mosaic artwork and UK handmade wall coverings to Florentine inspired marble flooring and Spanish artisanal furniture, reflecting a refined balance of heritage, luxury and contemporary design.
