Opus 356 presents a sophisticated Muskoka lakefront retreat, where refined craftsmanship, expansive entertaining spaces, and seamless indoor-outdoor living are carefully integrated within a serene natural setting. Conceived as a contemporary residence rooted in its lakeside context, the project is defined by an emphasis on light, water, and the quiet rhythm of the surrounding landscape.

From arrival, the residence establishes a sense of calm continuity. Floor-to-ceiling glazing envelops the principal living spaces, framing uninterrupted views of the lake and forest while allowing natural light to animate the interiors. These openings extend the spatial experience beyond the built form, dissolving boundaries between interior and exterior environments.

Materiality is central to the design, with a restrained palette of warm timber, sculpted stone, soft textiles, and darkened metal accents creating a layered and tactile atmosphere. A stone fireplace anchors the main living area, complemented by light wood ceilings and expansive glazing. The kitchen functions as a social core, featuring integrated millwork, a sculptural island, and a cohesive material language that supports both functionality and gathering.

The spatial layout balances openness with privacy, enabling fluid transitions between communal areas and more intimate zones. Bedrooms are carefully positioned to frame curated lake views, while moments of pause are embedded throughout the residence.

Outdoor terraces extend the living spaces, incorporating dining, lounge areas, and a heated spa pool. A lakeside pavilion and boathouse further enhance the hospitality experience. The result is a composed, timeless retreat that embodies a refined interpretation of contemporary Muskoka living.
