Taylor Howes Designs has completed a vibrant six storey Victorian townhouse in Notting Hill, transforming the property into a richly layered family home that balances bold expression with everyday practicality. Located close to the area’s lively centre, the house benefits from generous proportions, high ceilings and a private top floor balcony overlooking a leafy streetscape.

Taylor Howes Designs was appointed to create interiors that felt both elegant and energetic, reflecting the client’s passion for art and sociable lifestyle. The design approach embraces a confident mix of contemporary pieces and curated artworks, resulting in a cohesive yet highly individual scheme. Practicality remained central throughout, ensuring each space supports both family life and entertaining.

The kitchen forms the heart of the home, designed as a social hub with earthy tones, dark green cabinetry and marble worktops that combine sophistication with usability. On the first floor, a formal living room introduces a more dramatic atmosphere, where rich purple tones, a bespoke banquette and a custom marble bar create a striking entertaining space filled with natural light.

Upstairs, Taylor Howes Designs softened the palette in the principal bedroom, introducing peach tones and tactile finishes to create a calm yet playful retreat. Bespoke detailing, from textured fabrics to artisan lighting, enhances the sense of individuality, while a spacious walk in wardrobe and luxurious ensuite complete the suite.

Throughout the home, materials, colour and craftsmanship are carefully layered to unify the interiors. Statement furniture and vintage pieces sit alongside contemporary design, reinforcing the eclectic narrative. By aligning bold aesthetics with functional planning, Taylor Howes Designs has delivered a home that feels both expressive and liveable, offering a refined yet personal environment tailored to modern family living.
