This Primrose Hill terraced residence, originally constructed in 1845, underwent a comprehensive interior transformation led by Collette Ward Interior Design & Decoration Ltd. Commissioned by a UK-based client, the project encompassed full interior design, project management, and a complete fit-out, with the objective of reimagining the property as a refined yet personal home suited to a new chapter in the client’s life.

The design brief centred on creating a feminine, uplifting environment defined by welcoming textures, playful yet elegant colour palettes, and carefully curated furnishings. Previously configured as a busy family home, the property required thoughtful spatial reorganisation to better suit single occupancy while maintaining its historic character and architectural integrity. The resulting scheme balances practicality with warmth, offering spaces designed for both quiet retreat and gracious entertaining.

A key highlight of the project is the master bedroom suite, formed by combining two adjoining first-floor rooms into a cohesive arrangement comprising a bedroom, dressing area, sitting space, and en-suite. Omexco bouclé wallcoverings introduce a soft tactile quality, while a four-poster bed establishes proportion and timeless character. Custom-designed furniture ensures cohesion through coordinated materials and forms, rather than direct matching, resulting in a layered and elegant composition.

Throughout the residence, colour and pattern are used with confidence, creating visual interest and personality. In contrast, the master suite provides a serene and escapist atmosphere, defined by gentle tones, delicate textures, and curated lighting that evokes the intimacy of a jewellery box.

The design reflects the eclectic, creative spirit of Primrose Hill itself, resulting in a vibrant yet intimate home where historical character, contemporary comfort, and the client’s individuality are harmoniously expressed.
