Nina Maya Interiors has completed the transformation of Residence S, a timeless family home in Bellevue Hill, Sydney, created for a young Australian family returning from Monaco. Inspired by European architecture and craftsmanship while embracing Australia’s relaxed indoor outdoor lifestyle, Nina Maya Interiors has delivered a residence that balances understated elegance with warmth, comfort and everyday practicality.

Working to transform the existing house into a calm and sophisticated home, Nina Maya Interiors focused on restraint, proportion and materiality rather than overt luxury. Drawing influence from the refined interiors of Monaco and the Mediterranean, the design combines natural light, bespoke detailing and carefully curated furnishings to create spaces that feel sculptural, inviting and quietly luxurious.

Throughout the home, Nina Maya Interiors celebrated craftsmanship with custom designed joinery, hand finished textured walls, natural stone, warm timber and soft limewashed finishes that introduce depth without unnecessary visual distraction. Bespoke Australian made elements sit alongside carefully selected contemporary furniture and sculptural lighting, reinforcing a timeless aesthetic designed to endure for decades.

A defining feature of the project is its seamless relationship with the surrounding landscape. Large openings blur the boundary between inside and out, while mature gardens and the pool strengthen the connection between the interiors and nature. Materials were selected to age gracefully and respond beautifully to changing light, ensuring the home remains closely connected to its environment throughout the seasons.

Nina Maya Interiors also carefully considered the needs of modern family life, creating interiors that flow naturally from one space to the next while remaining equally suited to entertaining. Soft textures, layered finishes and bespoke furniture provide comfort without compromising the architectural clarity of the home.

The completed residence reflects Nina Maya Interiors’ philosophy that true luxury is achieved through craftsmanship, thoughtful restraint and enduring quality, resulting in a sophisticated family home where European elegance and contemporary Australian living exist in perfect harmony.
