Interior Designer: Massari Design

Massari Design has completed an ultra luxurious residential retreat in Sardinia’s renowned Costa Smeralda, creating a home that merges refined contemporary living with the natural beauty of the Mediterranean landscape. Conceived as a sanctuary deeply connected to its surroundings, the project demonstrates how architecture, interiors and landscape can work together to create a seamless and immersive living experience.

At the heart of the design, Massari Design developed an interior scheme grounded in sensory minimalism, using a palette of ivory, sand and warm taupe tones that reflect the soft luminosity of the Sardinian coastline. Throughout the residence, tactile bouclé fabrics are paired with smooth travertine and natural stone surfaces, creating richly layered spaces that encourage comfort and relaxation while maintaining a sophisticated aesthetic.

Massari Design carefully curated every detail to reinforce a sense of continuity between the interiors and the surrounding environment. Slatted wood ceilings and integrated architectural lighting guide the eye towards expansive floor to ceiling glazing, framing uninterrupted views across the Costa Smeralda landscape. Curvaceous furniture silhouettes echo the organic forms of the region’s wind shaped granite rocks, reinforcing the home’s connection to its setting.

Outside, Massari Design treated the landscape as a direct extension of the interior architecture. Vast terraces, infinity pool areas and shaded pergolas provide a variety of atmospheres suited to both private retreat and large scale entertaining. Crisp white outdoor furnishings contrast elegantly against emerald lawns and Mediterranean vegetation, while recessed lounge areas create moments of intimacy within the wider landscape.

A defining achievement of the project is the fluid transition between interior comfort and the dramatic coastal scenery beyond. By integrating existing rock formations into the perimeter design and embracing a restrained, organic material palette, Massari Design has created a residence where luxury feels calm, timeless and intrinsically connected to the spirit of Sardinia.
