Laura Stein Interiors were asked if they could fully furnish the house from top to bottom before the client moved in at the end of June. With less than three months to complete the project every room had to be designed carefully and efficiently. The client’s taste was contemporary, but warm and comfortable. He liked strong hits of colour and bold contrast incorporating shades of blue, red and orange.

A brilliant element in this room is the custom benches that Laura and her team designed for the foot of the bed. The shape of the bases was specifically designed to echo the curves on the bed, night tables and ceiling. The faux leather on the upholstered tops has a worn look that creates a purposeful tension with the shiny polished nickel.

The room is all about texture and line. Straight lines and curves play off each other, while texture and pattern are layered over a neutral backdrop. Every wall is either panelled or wallpapered, and every surface has a unique texture. The pops of orange give the otherwise serene room a dynamic burst of energy. The result is a comfortable, inviting, luxurious, yet youthful space. The design is understated, classic luxury infused with a fresh contemporary edge, this is shown throughout the project and was something that the client had previously asked for.
