Project Name: Valentines Place
Location: London
Interior Designer: Honky
Completion Date: February 2016

The brief was to create an edgy urban interior that would play on the surrounding area and reflect the romantic notion of “valentines” this is reflected in the soft colour palette throughout the apartment and tactile textures. With this in mind Honky used a blend of classical style and industrial detailed accents, each a nod to the past and the present and future design of Southbank. Modern and industrial materials and techniques were perfectly balanced to ensure a tranquil and serene interior.

In the Master bedroom a concrete plastered pitted wall added an industrial element to the scheme, which gave an urban backdrop for the soft bed linen creating a clever contrast between the soft and hard elements. In contrast to this treatment the second bedroom was more playful, a paint effect was used on all walls giving an edgy feel to the bedroom while being softened by the lightweight sheers and upholstered headboard and bed.

To bring back some character and heritage to the scheme Honky used Anaglypta wallpaper in the reception room along with jewel coloured details, velvets and tactile fabric, combined with gold accessories to create an elegant contemporary apartment. The result was a truly unique, striking and contemporary statement; something Honky continually strives to bring to each project.
