Project Name: Highland Park Estate

Location: Dallas, Texas, USA

Date Completed: 2018

Interior Designer: Sherry Hayslip Interiors

Architect: David Stocker, SHM Architects

Construction/Developer: Steven Hild

Sherry Hayslip Interiors’ sophisticated and tenured client purchased the Highland Park 8,156-square-foot estate with a blend of dark finishes and masculine materials, featuring quality construction and striking details inside and out. The client loved the home; however, it didn’t feel personal to her. She tasked Sherry Hayslip Interiors with bringing her dream of a more luxury and feminine design to life.

Hayslip knew just what to do to soften the home yet keep the spirit of the house (built by custom builder Steven Hild with architecture by David Stocker of SHM Architects). She updated all the lighting in the home, switching out every fixture; lightened the white oak plank hardwoods and painted the walls a warmer shade of white. In addition, an elevator was installed, custom furnishings designed, and new countertops throughout.

The home’s lower level was completely transformed. Sherry Hayslip Interiors utilized the existing wine room and added a utility room complete with a dog washing station, beautiful powder room, exercise room, kitchenette and open media room.

Upstairs is a fashion enthusiasts dream. The bedroom next to the master was transformed into a boutique-style closet – including a dressing area, custom mirrored and glass display cabinets, built-ins for the client’s shoe and handbag collection, cedar closet and more. The spa-like, his-and-her master bathroom features Calacatta gold marble, soaking tub and steam shower.

This project was so successful because Sherry Hayslip Interiors knew exactly how to soften the interiors of the home yet keep the spirit of the property alive.
