With a wrap-around balcony providing far reaching views to Bray Head and the Irish Sea, Ventura’s design for the luxury three-bedroom Penthouse at the Greystones Development is led by the cohesion into its environment. Taking full advantage of the location’s spectacular views and aided in creating a welcoming, calming, and tranquil interior. The Penthouse offered a wonderful and unique opportunity for Ventura to devise a classic contemporary look that the company is so renowned for.

Located on the top floor of this exclusive development, the creation of a wrap-around balcony with sea views was Ventra’s starting point for the inspiration for the project. The layout of the rooms worked around the need to incorporate the panoramic views at every opportunity. Their aim was always to take full advantage of the location and extensive vistas, so window dressings were kept simple and neutral, textiles are smooth textured and tactile, and each room feels cohesive without fighting the natural beauty that is just outside the windows

With deep seated sofas, armchairs, ambient lighting and a range of Ventura accessories such as cushions, lamps and throws the scheme was devised by Creative Director Arlene McIntyre who has put her extensive interior design skills to excellent use. The opportunity to have the space to work with was a luxury, and with Ventura’s experience in creating classic contemporary interiors the starting point was to skilfully divide the living space so that there were individual relaxation and dining areas with sea views. A natural division between the two rooms was created with a large bespoke built-in bookcase, which catered to both the living and dining areas of the penthouse. The functional kitchen was given a smart Scandi look and the colours were all chosen throughout to complement and flow. The aim was to ensure that the rooms ‘flowed’ effortlessly and provided a space that was both luxurious and timeless for the new owner.

The careful planning and bespoke furniture, soft furnishings and flooring that Ventura supplied worked to enhance the calm ambience brought in from the seascape. Ventura’s team of master craftsmen based at their workshops in Dublin made all the custom pieces of furniture and joinery throughout the penthouse. Having over 50 artisans working and building all their furniture to each project or customer specification is considered to be one of the team’s major assets.
