Interior Designer: Sara Agar Interiors

Construction: Bridgeway Homes

Sara Agar Interiors has created bespoke and luxurious living spaces with their latest project, a new family home purchased in the early construction stages. Treated as a “fast-track” new build, the project included extensive changes to layouts, construction materials, and all design elements, along with landscaping and M&E enhancements. Sara Agar Interiors also secured planning approval for an extension, a four-bay garage, two oak-framed garages, and a separate Spa and Pool Pavilion.

The clients, who have a passion for entertaining and wellness, requested a comprehensive array of amenities. Sara Agar Interiors delivered a home equipped with a swimming pool, spa, yoga studio, sauna, steam room, internal ice plunge, tennis court, and gym. For entertaining, the design incorporated a wine cellar, dedicated bar, extensive outdoor social areas, an outdoor kitchen, and a bespoke dog wash.

In response to the clients’ environmental consciousness, Sara Agar Interiors prioritised sustainable solutions, including efficient heating systems, solar glass, recycled materials, and natural fabrics. Local tradesmen were employed wherever possible, ensuring the use of traditional skills and supporting the community.

Technology integration was seamlessly managed, with the latest systems discreetly incorporated into the home’s design. Air conditioning and manifolds were hidden within joinery and coffered ceilings, while pipework was ingeniously concealed in table legs.

A blend of old and new elements adds character to the home. Antique water features from France were paired with a modern David Harber water sculpture, creating a harmonious juxtaposition. Bespoke design features included a 340kg Belgian Blue Limestone cooker mantel, hand-forged garden railings, ornate iron gates crafted by a local blacksmith, and retrospective oak ceiling beams.

Sara Agar Interiors’ commitment to quality is evident through the craftsmanship and attention to detail in every aspect of the project. Using time-honored techniques and traditional skills, the craftsmen have created a home that is both luxurious and enduring, perfectly tailored to the clients’ lifestyle and preferences.
