Cinema Luxe has set a new standard in luxury home entertainment with the creation of a bespoke cinema room within an expansive relaxation and entertainment space in Berkshire. Tasked with integrating advanced technology seamlessly into the wider basement interior design, Cinema Luxe rose to the challenge with an unparalleled fusion of performance and aesthetics.

From the project’s inception, Cinema Luxe collaborated closely with Indigo Zest, the architect and the interior designer to adjust the room’s proportions and orientation, optimising it for high-performance cinema. This early collaboration was crucial in enhancing the room’s luxurious feel while ensuring the technical aspects were flawlessly executed. One of the standout features is a sunken seating and conversation pit for the front row, which adds a dramatic cinematic effect upon entering from the rear and looking towards the screen.

The design process included meticulous acoustic testing, leading to the selection of a refined material palette. Dark acoustically transparent denim was chosen for the wall fabrics, paired with mohair for the seating, veneered panelling, quartzite, and bespoke metalwork. These materials were thoughtfully used across various elements to maintain a sense of constant interest without overwhelming the space. Unique oversized wall lights, bar joinery, and metal stage nosings were designed and manufactured by Cinema Luxe’s Bespoke Fabrication team, adding distinctive touches to this exclusive room.

The final result is a cinema room that perfectly aligns with the client’s vision, delivering exceptional performance and aesthetic sophistication. The design incorporates two tiers of bespoke seating, with the front row sunken, and a rear bar area. This setup allows the room to function both as a dedicated family cinema and a larger entertainment space for gatherings, all without compromising technical performance.

Great care was taken to ensure the cinema co-existed harmoniously with the adjacent relaxation and entertainment areas. A hidden custom door, with a polished plaster finish on the gym side and fabric wrapping on the cinema side, provides a seamless transition between spaces.
