HB Design Studio meticulously designed and furnished a contemporary residence in a well-known inner-city neighbourhood in Calgary, AB, ensuring modern elegance and top-tier quality. The elevated three-story home boasts downtown views and a serene green space, embodying the clients’ desire for privacy and solace. Each design element reflects the clients’ lifestyle, incorporating luxurious dark finishes with textured, casual elements, and vibrant colours within a neutral palette.

Strategically placed lighting offers various ambiances, enhancing moods and activities throughout the day. Décor choices emphasise simplicity and purpose over mere decoration, with expansive windows and outdoor patio spaces ensuring a bright, relaxed interior that adapts to changing seasons.

A highlight is the custom banquette and dining table in the open-concept living space, featuring Hermes-inspired orange upholstery and light oak millwork, complemented by a custom planter and concealed LED lighting for a soothing glow. The design, suitable for clients who work in hospitality, creates an unconventional yet stately dining area perfect for entertaining.

The home’s linear structure, maximised lounge seating, and cohesive materiality across three levels ensure both functionality and expansiveness. Practical, durable finishes like Laminam and Dekton surfaces offer sustainability and resistance to stains and heat. Custom drapery, lighting, and electrical systems were meticulously planned for visual comfort and ambiance.

Located in a redeveloped, vibrant community with similar contemporary styling, the home’s durable woodgrain siding, soffits, and stucco exterior withstand Calgary’s harsh climates. Large triple-pane European tilt-and-turn windows blend indoor and outdoor environments seamlessly, offering city and greenspace views.
