Style So Simple has transformed an Irish holiday home into a tranquil haven of elegance, seamlessly blending panoramic views with bespoke design elements and local craftsmanship. The project aimed to create a versatile space suitable for family gatherings while catering to the needs of young children and visiting cousins.

A key aspect of the design was the conversion of the upstairs loft area into a playful, Zen-like play zone, overlooking the open living and dining space below. This arrangement allowed adults to unwind while keeping an eye on the children, ensuring functionality and enjoyment for all.

Inspired by the breathtaking views of the rustic Irish landscape, Style So Simple curated a colour palette, furniture layout, and decor selection that complemented the natural surroundings. Soft blues and greens transitioning into earthy greens and terracotta echoed the hues of the exterior landscape, creating a serene and harmonious atmosphere.

Materials such as rich cotton, tan leather, and linens were chosen to introduce a variety of textures, while linen curtains with minimal lining allowed exterior light to cast unique shadows into the interior, welcoming abundant natural light during the day.

In the open-plan kitchen-living-dining area, existing design features such as the double-height ceiling with exposed beams and stone chimney breast wall were emphasized and updated. The pine floor was resanded and stained, the pine ceiling painted white, and the original beams and stone preserved, providing a backdrop for the awe-inspiring views of the Skelligs.

The bedrooms were designed to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, with materials and finishes that exude warmth and texture. Neutral tones and whimsical features were used in the children’s room to create a fun, vibrant atmosphere.

Style So Simple succeeded in enhancing and complementing the Irish landscape while curating an interior that provides a peaceful escape for its occupants.
