Isla James Interiors has transformed a previously dull and cold bathroom into a vibrant and practical space designed for three children to share. Set within a modern style farmhouse in the countryside, the bathroom now balances modern elements with traditional touches, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The redesign began with the use of large format green stone tiles on both the walls and floors. This choice not only introduced warm tones but also enhanced the room’s complexity and cosiness through the interplay of textures and lighting. The result is a bathroom that feels inviting and visually dynamic.

One of the standout features of Isla James Interiors’ design is the custom joinery that runs the length of one wall, incorporating three sinks and providing ample storage space. This clever design includes practical solutions such as internal bins, toothbrush charging stations, and makeup pull-out drawers. Additionally, the joinery cleverly conceals the lighting drivers, making maintenance easy and preserving the room’s clean lines.

Understanding the needs of three children, Isla James Interiors ensured that each child has their own designated space with three sinks, three mirrors, and three shower niches. The repositioning of the bath to sit under the window has significantly opened up the room, making it feel larger and more integrated. The new glass shower cubicle, featuring ribbed glass, allows light to filter through in a diffused manner, adding a unique element of interest.

The bathroom’s layout was further optimized by designing a full-height joinery piece next to the shower and toilet. This unit not only provides storage for makeup and toilet rolls but also features an attractive niche for candles or decorative items, adding complexity and charm visible from the sink mirror.

A bespoke crittall shower screen, developed in collaboration with a stone mason, contractor, and crittall screen company, highlights the meticulous planning involved. The use of Bauwerk paint on the dwarf wall infuses an industrial vibe, complementing the overall aesthetic.

The sink elevation showcases Isla James Interiors’ skill in layering wall applications and mirrors to create a sophisticated lighting design. This intricate detailing ensures that the bathroom is both functional and visually striking, perfectly blending modern and traditional elements to suit the farmhouse’s style.
