Hill House Interiors has masterfully rejuvenated an exquisite family abode within the prestigious St George’s Hill estate in Surrey, transforming it into a captivating interior that exudes sheer luxury. The Eastern European family residing in this home, with their three teenage children and a dog, sought to update their dated interior with a modern Art Deco-inspired style. Hill House Interiors delivered, blending subtle colours and warm tones to reflect the clients’ heritage and refined taste.

A key aspect of the project was the complete redesign of the kitchen and bathrooms, turning them into functional yet aesthetically luxurious spaces. The kitchen, customised to align with the clients’ tastes, became a blend of fun, color, and relaxed luxury. It features earthy tones and textures complemented by Burlesque Quartzite worktops and blonde-washed sycamore cabinetry doors. The island cabinetry boasts a textured bronze liquid metal finish, adding sophistication, while an emerald-toned Verdi Alpe Italian marble splashback serves as a striking focal point, almost like a piece of art.

For a family that loves to entertain, making a striking first impression was essential. Hill House Interiors introduced a dramatic entrance chandelier, a grand display of cascading monochrome glass leaves, setting the tone for the interiors from the moment guests arrive. The entrance hall and landing were designed to feel like gallery spaces, incorporating large-scale panelling for a timeless look. Glass doors from the entrance hall lead through the dining room into the drawing room, ensuring a natural flow and consistent, yet distinct, lighting designs for each space.

The living areas were refurbished to enhance comfort and elegance, making every room inviting and sophisticated. The formal living room, centred on entertaining, features custom-made furniture pieces and matching leather coffee tables, reflecting the clients’ love of hosting. Custom cabinetry offers a striking display for the client’s extensive glassware collection, including Lalique pieces.

With three teenage children, the principal suite was designed as a quiet retreat from busy family life. The bedroom features a calming palette of soft blue and neutrals with sumptuous textures. A seating area within the main bedroom provides a perfect spot to unwind, while separate “his” and “her” en-suites cater to individual tastes—his with a masculine finish, hers with a statement lighting feature over a freestanding bath.
