Et Lorem has completed a bespoke luxury kitchen within a detached period home overlooking a private creek off the Thames in Teddington, creating a space that responds as much to the family’s lifestyle as it does to the character of the property. Designed around a close connection to the water, the project reflects the routines of an adventurous family who paddleboard directly from home and wanted the creek to remain central to everyday life.

The island was equally carefully considered. Its size, shape and position allow uninterrupted views of the creek from the breakfast bar while ensuring the landscape remains visible on entering the room. A pill shaped worktop and curved fluted oak support introduce sculptural softness, echoing the movement of the water through warm timber textures and flowing forms.

For Et Lorem, the project held additional meaning as designer Claire O’Donohue created the kitchen for a lifelong friend. Working alongside interior designer Jo Massie of The Absolute Home, specialist cabinet makers, stone fabricators and the installation team, Et Lorem delivered a kitchen that feels beautifully crafted, effortless to use and perfectly tailored to family life, creating a timeless setting for memories to be made for years to come.
