Rather than focusing solely on aesthetics, Et Lorem developed the design through an in depth understanding of how the family lives. The brief called for a joyful, relaxed kitchen equally suited to peaceful mornings overlooking the creek and lively weekends spent entertaining children, relatives and friends. Every planning decision was made to strengthen this connection while ensuring the kitchen remained highly practical.
A major priority was preserving important sightlines throughout the home. Et Lorem grouped the floor to ceiling cabinetry into an L shaped arrangement beneath the highest section of the ceiling, avoiding tall units beneath the pitched roof and maintaining an open view from the adjoining office. A feature extraction area with open shelving further reinforces this light, spacious feel, while its angled form subtly mirrors the roofline to create a natural architectural relationship.
