Palace Hotel and Palace Residences at Dubai Creek Harbour

Shortlisted: Hotel Under 200 Rooms Award

The International Hotel & Property Awards 2026

Godwin Austen Johnson shaped Palace Hotel Dubai Creek Harbour as a defining architectural and lifestyle anchor for Dubai Creek Harbour Island, establishing a strong visual and urban dialogue along the Creek Quay promenade and towards the Calatrava designed observation tower. The project forms a refined mixed use destination comprising a 122 key Palace branded lifestyle hotel and a 46 storey branded residential tower, balancing intimacy, elegance and presence within the skyline and public realm.

In alignment with Emaar’s architectural philosophy, the practice developed a contemporary interpretation of local context expressed through proportion, restraint and clarity. The architectural language is composed and disciplined, defined by façade modulation, strong proportions and a distinctive crown element. Subtle variation differentiates hotel and residential components while maintaining a unified identity. The Z shaped residential slab, central core and chamfered corner fins were informed by massing and view corridor studies to optimise outlooks across the creek, skyline and observation tower.

Materiality reinforces quiet luxury, combining textured off white GRC cladding, a Calacatta marble Neolith clad hotel base, bronze toned anodised curtain walling and a restrained internal palette. At ground and podium levels, landscaped plazas, water features, a raised datum and a promenade facing pool terrace strengthen waterfront engagement.

Internally, modern elegance meets Arabian charm through choreographed arrival sequences, curated heritage references and refined craftsmanship. Integrated sustainability strategies aligned with Dubai Green Building Standards support long term performance. The result is a calm, timeless landmark that integrates hospitality, branded living and waterfront urbanism into a coherent and enduring destination.
