Hamilford Design has completed a contemporary family home in the Cotswolds that places everyday living, natural materials and the surrounding rural landscape at the centre of its design. Created as a cohesive family residence, the project demonstrates how thoughtful planning and restrained detailing can deliver a home that is both highly functional and quietly elegant.

The brief challenged Hamilford Design to create a property that would support family life, entertaining and moments of relaxation while maintaining a strong connection to its countryside setting. Rather than treating each room as an individual project, Hamilford Design developed a unified scheme using a consistent palette of materials, bespoke joinery and repeated architectural details to create continuity throughout the home.

Natural materials including local Cotswold stone, reclaimed timber, oak, marble, linen, woven leather and brass create warmth, texture and longevity. Colour has been introduced with restraint, ensuring the interiors complement rather than compete with the expansive countryside views framed by large areas of glazing.

Hamilford Design also created a series of distinctive spaces that each have their own identity while remaining connected to the wider scheme. The hidden pantry transforms the way the kitchen functions, the principal suite offers uninterrupted views across the lake with the atmosphere of a private hotel retreat, while an upstairs bar and pool room introduces a more social setting.
