The brief called for a home capable of hosting large gatherings while maintaining moments of privacy and retreat. Hill House Interiors addressed this through a carefully layered layout, combining generous social spaces with quieter, more intimate areas. Central to the project was the development of a distinctive architectural language, driven by the client’s desire for originality and craftsmanship. This resulted in a signature vocabulary of stepped cornices, bespoke grilles, curated niches and refined metal inlays, all repeated throughout the home to create cohesion without uniformity.
A defining feature is the sculptural staircase, which establishes the tone of the interiors. Its fluted form and curved metal balustrade required close collaboration with specialist makers to achieve the level of precision and fluidity envisioned. Elsewhere, ceiling detailing plays an active role in the design, with mouldings and patterns aligned to flooring and architectural features to create a subtle dialogue between surfaces.
