Ethospace, a Singapore-based design house, were commissioned to design the ‘Art Rotana’, a stunning ocean front property in the heart of the Amwaj Islands, Bahrain. The Art Rotana is inspired by the heritage of Bahrain, from eloquent expressions of the past within a modern context that carries a reverence for the future. The designer’s wanted the hotel to be reflective of Bahrain’s rich history, creating windows like eyes looking out into the world.

The design of this 311 room hotel, revolves around elements of design expressive of the owner’s vision to open up windows in our minds where we can see impressions of the past and visions of the future. The design is inspired by the desert elements of water, sand and wind from nature in praise of the beauty of the desert. Within the context of a rich Arabian heritage and a contemporary landscape of ideals prevailing in the modern world that we live in today, Art Rotana prevails a modernity that energetically embraces the lifestyle of the rich culture of a people who exude finesse in the harshest of desert life by Ethospace’s warm approach to traditional hospitality to even strangers in their solitude and weariness after days or months from travelling alone in the desert.

Art and creativity are at the heart and soul of this hotel, and define its very existence. From the striking illuminated arch adorning the hotel’s entrance and lobby to the exhilarating dancing fountain featuring a blend of music and lights, ART Rotana stays true to its artistic routes and promises an all-inspiring ambience.
