The Higgins Hotel is situated within the vibrant New Orleans Art District directly adjacent to the WWII Museum. It is named after the famous Andrew Higgins, who during WWII invented the Higgins Boat – an amphibious landing craft which assisted with the landing on D-Day of the Normandy shores.

The interiors were designed by Kay Lang + Associates with a nostalgic Art Deco feel, coupled with modern conveniences and inspired by history. The romantic guest rooms offer striking 1940s-style décor, free Wi-Fi, enhanced technology and 55-inch HDTVs. The VIP Suites, Corner Kings and Presidential Suites have stunning city views. The public areas feature a grand entry atrium with specially commissioned Art Deco style paintings by M Kungl. This hotel experience is sure to intrigue and delight all with its educational and inspiring story.

The hotel has 230 rooms, a full-service restaurant, Café Normandie, featuring French inspired cuisine, whilst Kilroy’s is the casual yet classic bar. You can also sip coffee at Provisions, the hotel’s marketplace or when you’re ready to socialise, head up to Rosie’s on the Roof. This high energy rooftop bar provides unparalleled views of the city and the Bollinger Canopy of Peace. The Higgins Conference Centre offers a stunning, flexible event space with a distinctive Art Deco vibe.

The hotel is operated by the Hostmark Hospitality Group but will be tied into the Museum and the WWII Theatre group. It was also supplemented by private donors, whom sponsored certain areas of the hotel and help support the museum in its efforts to provide education.

Kay Lang + Associates believe that this hotel is unlike anything else in the World, giving a nod to WWII to celebrate the victory of the war. The designers want to expose this educational hotel so that the world can benefit from both inspirational history and a victorious celebration of life.
