This Presidential Suite has been thoughtfully designed with its own unique and individual style, different from the other suites but still in a contemporary resort style as well as echoing colonial Portuguese and maritime elements in keeping with the history and general theme of the resort.

Nowadays, the Cape Verde islands are opening up to tourists, especially holiday makers searching for a rich blend of fresh holiday experiences. Even the Cape Verde people are unique, being a cultural mix of their two nearest neighbours Senegal and Brazil, this combination is most obvious in the ever-present Cape Verde music; a scintillating hip-swinging fusion of Samba and Salsa sprinkled with tribal African.

The fine beaches, beautiful scenery, vibrant cultures and sense of adventure are what Cape Verde is all about. The inspiration and general theme for the interior design (and overall design including the architecture and landscaping) of the resort and spa is drawn from the islands of Cape Verde’s history, in particular the elements of voyage and discovery that have been an integral part of the islands history over the years as well as the Portuguese influence that is prevalent within the islands.

These Elements of voyage and discovery and the idea of a journey have been an integral part of the design process. We have been mindful not to create a themed Disney type resort but do want to make the connection obvious and interesting enough for the guest to enjoy as part of their overall experience.

The whole suite – it all works so well from the generous living areas, the contemporary elements of design in harmony with the comfortable resort style to the large indulgent master bathroom – all flooded with natural light and with panoramic stunning sea views.

The design has been thoughtfully and carefully considered – not only the FF&E and finishes, the whole layout of the suite and its overall guest responsiveness and as described above.

Local elements and the islands heritage influenced the design. This Presidential Suite has been designed with its own unique and individual style, yet still different from the other suites but still in a contemporary resort style as well as echoing colonial Portuguese and maritime elements in keeping with the history and general theme of the resort.

All the materials and colours used within the design work together throughout the different rooms. Bespoke designed (by BDA) furniture and FF&E, hand fitted mosaic tiles, waterjet-cut marble inset tiles into the entrance floor and hand-woven rugs designed by BDA.
