W Dubai – The Palm with its 350 guest rooms and suites with uninterrupted views and dreamy amenities redefines city getaways. Lying on an island yet on the cusp of a city thriving with innovation & luxurious excesses, it is the ultimate escape resort fringed with city benefits. A modern utopia for international trendsetters and the most discerning locals. From the glamour of the AWAY Spa, the first escape of its kind in the Middle East, to the plush furnishings of the playful Wow Suites, this scene-stealing hotel really is the perfect spot for entertaining!

AWAY Spa – designed for guests to ‘stroll in and strut out’ is a non-traditional spa destination emulating the playful vibe of the hotel. Replacing traditional constraints of spa culture with the freedom and fun of W, the AWAY Spa offers an amped-up social space for a lively, yet chill vibe where guests can recharge in style. With eleven treatment rooms, including a couple’s suite and hamman, plus steam room, sauna, experiential shower and whirlpool, the AWAY Spa is a one-of-a-kind offering and a first for the UAE.

The W brand sees the world through the lens of limitless possibilities and dwp’s design for the AWAY Spa reflects that mantra – almost everything is possible. Dwp’s favourite aspect of this design is the abstract palm tree lighting installation that transforms into a raindrop above the central beauty bar. Not only does this design element make an instant first impression as guests walk into the spa, setting the tone and offering a perfect hero ‘selfie spot’, but it also treats guests to a real sensory spa experience.

Like the raindrop breathes life into the desert so does water to the spa. As guests take a seat at the beauty bar, multiple individual lights create a ripple effect above signifying the importance of water, not only for the region but also for a spa. Designed with a lively vibe in mind the lighting installation also provides a distinctive social space, where energy can be amplified. The operator is also able to adjust the mood of the spa, with different light and colour combinations available the spa can offer something different at any point throughout the day.
