Project Name: NADIM

Location: Mexico

Date Completed: June 2019

Interior Designer: Filipao Nunes Arquitectos

Located in Zapopan, Jalisco, NADIM provides a modern oasis in the middle of the bustling city. The design aims to transport you to another place from the very moment that you cross the vibrant corridors to reach the lively terrace.

Filipao Nunes Arquitectos have designed NADIM, with nature being the key idea behind the whole design. NADIM consists of multiple different islands, in which the natural vegetation is beautifully and naturally combined with the furniture. The design combines lights, vegetation and textiles to highlight and emphasise the nature themed concept.

Upon entering NADIM, guests walk through a floral wonderland. A tunnel with flower walls and hanging plants draping down, creating a vibrant and whimsical walkway. NADIM aims to make guests feel relaxed, and at one with nature. The use of vegetation throughout the design has created
a beautiful, natural sanctuary in which guests are invited to come and relax, away from the bustling city.

The designers favourite aspect of the project is the way the design makes guests feel. When they enter, they can escape the normality of the city and enter a new place. Guests are able to leave the hectic city behind them and relax in the calming atmosphere. Whilst in NADIM, guests are treated to
a spectacular view of Guadalajara’s incredible skyline, flooding the bar with a relaxing and tranquil ambience.

Materials are kept natural, complimenting the concept. The design of every vegetation island integrates the furniture with the materials. All of the furniture was crafted in Guadalajara, a Mexican state which is famous for the wood works that they produce. In turn, the use of these materials pay
homage to the history of the city that the bar is located in. The wooden furniture is then decorated with vibrant cushions and coverings, in a range of exciting prints and patterns.

NADIM has been designed to be a calming sanctuary for the citizens and guests of Guadalajara, where they can come to sit back, relax and be immersed into the beauty of nature.
