Set across 500 acres of pristine private beachfront and breath-taking flora and fauna, the reimagined resort provides an unparalleled island escape with expertly appointed accommodations, inspired amenities, dynamic dining outlets and bespoke services and programming.

Looking to reaffirm its legacy as the Caribbean’s leading luxury resort, Rosewood Little Dix Bay enlisted OBMI as lead architect for its most sustainable, and resort-wide, upgrade since opening 50 years ago. The comprehensive, multi-million-dollar renovation comprised of the complete redesign of the resort’s accommodations, dining venues, and overall enhancements to the resort’s gardens and landscaping.

80 expertly appointed guestrooms, suites and villas have been designed with privacy, relaxation and reconnection in mind, with most rooms serving as digital-free sanctuaries without televisions. Dressed in the soothing tones of the island’s pristine sands, ancient boulders and cooling waters, each accommodation offers elevated design and décor and unobstructed views of the sea.
OBMI focused on keeping a limited number of structures while positioning each to follow the lines of the landscape. Local cultural motifs and indigenous materials were incorporated into the resort’s architecture to reflect the spirit of the mid-century modern design movement which prevailed at the time of the resort’s inception.

Reimaging the resort’s accommodations, OBMI spearheaded the architecture for remodel the accommodations into 42 guestrooms and 35 suites, using an understated approach to luxury and respect for the environment. By combining existing suites and rooms, the newly designed suites feature plunge pools, outdoor rain showers and private patios.

Retaining its original emphasis on celebrating the surrounding natural environment, the new design introduces elements that speak to the wants and needs of today’s travellers. Inspired by its supreme setting with architecture positioned to follow the lines of the landscape, the property’s intuitive modern design evokes a relaxed, yet refined sense of luxury bolstered by boundless natural beauty.

The resort’s new design reflects the intrinsic style and sentiment of Virgin Gorda through unique décor, authentic artefacts and dynamic design elements that bring the external environment indoors.
