The Crowne Plaza Hotel for the Warsaw HUB building in the Wola district of Warsaw is a hotel that reflects the vibrant and bustling city. The common areas are lively, full of colour, and eclectic. The interior design choices feature a motif throughout the hotel that is based on the Vistula River, a symbol of life, energy, and the power and strength of eternity.

When working on this project, Tremend wanted to create a place that would be strongly connected with Warsaw. Respect for the environment is manifested by references to nature and a conscious choice of finishing materials. Their main inspiration was the Vistula River with its wild nature, but were also inspired by the vibrant city centre itself. The design of Crowne Plaza embodies the bustling city life. The interiors are diverse and colourful, characterised by a wealth of finishing materials and exceptional attention to detail.

The project is a multifunctional complex of two skyscrapers joined together by a bridge. On the ground floor is the hotel’s entrance area, including a lobby and lounge with a central bar. The bar serves as the focal point, a meeting place for people. To emphasise its importance, Tremend uses a hanging copper structure over the bar counter, with greenery vines and lighting fixtures hanging down. The uniqueness of the bar attracts the attention of passers-by in the street. The wall of live greenery here gives the space a relaxed feel, harmonising with nature.

The first floor is occupied by rooms and a restaurant. The restaurant omits exclusive elegance with it’s combination of gold, wood, greenery, and the emerald fabric of the sofas. The golden “plates” forming the acoustic ceiling of the restaurant and give the space a distinctive character. The centrally located bar and open kitchen are highlighted by a black-painted steel structure. Skybar is the most representative space layering wood, elegant stone, and gold accents. The glass shelves ensure that the visible panorama of Warsaw is not obscured. The furniture is made of sophisticated materials, such as conglomerates with shimmering gold particles, natural leather, and elegant velour.

Tremend studio is well known for its unique custom-designed and made furniture and graphics. For them, the hardest part of the project was finding an intriguing idea to be at the centre of the interiors for a hotel located in the centre of a bustling city. Though the common spaces are kept to one aesthetic – each of them is a combination of marble, wood, green elements with an accent of gold or copper metals – the continual theme that ties the hotel together is the allusions to the river. You can find symbols of this throughout the hotel, in paintings, materials and lighting. Tremend had designed all the graphics for carpets of which some of these also reflect this motif.
