Tremend Studio is well known for its unique custom designed and made furniture and graphics. In Ibis Styles Bolesławiec, Tremend introduces a new direction to a unique leitmotif – Bolesław ceramics. The interior design combines a traditional approach with modern trends and innovative solutions. It interacts in a way of attraction and intrigues guests to find out more about the place, hotel, and history.

Boleslawiec is a city known in Poland for it’s pottery and ceramics, not only in Poland but worldwide. Tremend’s interior designers took the opportunity to understand the process of creating these ceramics – from how the paint and its colours are made, through creating shapes, to the final product. All this knowledge led to the transformation of Ibis Styles Boleslawiec, where the design has subtle hints to the city’s history and craftsmenship, allowing guests to better connect with the essence of Bolesławiec.

Colorful, saturated spaces full of fanciful solutions of this hotel. From the very beginning, Tremend combined a traditional design approach with their unique custom elements and the integration of local ceramics. When entering the hotel, guests follow the path of discovering the history and the local craftsmanship. The design challenge was how to make a ceramics-inspired interior not overbearing: surprising, and attractive to the visitors. The reception areas took the form of oversized cups. In a separate zone for kids, a wall installation was created on which little artists can create their patterns and inscriptions using blocks.

Bolesławiec is a charming city, inextricably associated with ceramics, its cobalt color, and unique patterns. It is no wonder then that these traditional dishes have become Tremend’s main inspiration, embedding the familiar colours and shapes within the hotel design. Right from the doorstep, guests discover the traditional design combined with modern trends and innovative solutions of the local ceramics. They are welcome by the custom reception stands whose colours reflect the dyes used to apply patterns to the dishes. The childrens corner features a perforated wall encouraging them to play with the patterns just as Tremend has with the design. The Winestone Bar leading towards the restaurant is full of colour and pattern, made comfortable with the vibrant variety of stitching on the upholstery of chairs and ceramic lamp. Attention is also drawn to a large shared table in the shape of a potter’s wheel with stools like workshop seats. The element that unites the whole design is the carpet with a personalised geometric pattern and shades of blue. The guests’ journey ends in cobalt yellow rooms – just like the contemporary directions in ceramics.
