The Inn at Saratoga, Tapestry Collection by Hilton (the first Tapestry Collection property in Silicon Valley) opened in January 2020 in the heart of charming downtown Saratoga, California, after an extensive renovation. Overlooking Wildwood Park and Saratoga Creek, the 47-room boutique hotel is a quiet haven surrounded by lush landscaping and a babbling brook. With its close proximity to some of the world’s most innovative companies, and easy access to the region’s best wineries, golf courses, and hiking, the hotel had to appeal to wine connoisseurs and techies alike while reflecting the quaint location.

To capture the spirit of place, the project team reimagined the guest rooms and suites as a serene, timeless design that effortlessly blends crisp coastal detailing with country-cottage chic decor. Drawing inspiration from the site and Neo-Victorian architecture, through the use of natural light, modern lines, and layered tones, the beautifully appointed rooms evoke a breezy yet sophisticated West Coast feel. To make a welcoming statement, luxe and laid-back elements are mixed with a soft colour palette punctuated by caramel colours and textured fabrics.  Rooms feature linen-coloured walls and casual elegant drapery, and either wood-patterned tiled floor or Rorschach ink-blot carpeting in hues of toffee, cream and slate. Architectural moulding frames the dropped ceilings which are cleverly backlit to create ambient lighting.

The Inn is nestled into the forest and picturesque creek landscape adjacent to the property. It’s a unique and wonderful location that allows for guests to unwind in charming modernized guestrooms or relaxing with a glass or wine or favourite cocktail in the Heid bar by the lobby. The morning view from the balconies is met by birds chirping from the forest. At this quaint locale, guest rooms combine comfortable spaces with a peaceful surrounding — a perfect stay for business and leisure trips.

Hygge (Danish for cosiness, happiness and comfort) is integrated into the design. It was important for the design team and ownership that the design was timeless, yet elegant, cosy and comfortable.
