The aim was to design a private island which would stand apart from the common hotel resorts in the area. Velaa Private Island is not a regular hotel, albeit with all the luxury and amenities one could think of time they are not likely to forget, it’s just as you would imagine it to be. The design, architecture, interiors and materials chosen, serve the purpose of instilling peace and relaxation. Using largely traditional materials and technologies, tastefully and functionally alongside modern elements. There’s a striking balance between privacy and ‘feast for the eyes’ through humble, yet meticulously executed architecture, combining tradition and modernity.

The key aspects of the island are tranquillity, privacy and nature, alongside a fine-tuned design with that ‘home feeling’. Combining contemporary architecture with Maldivian touch, fine dining experience and a carefree feeling for the guests. With the credit to the tasteful architectural, design and landscaping skills of our Czech team. The luxury design is present in all aspects on the island, but not in an offensive and visible way but in a way of comfort that everyone appreciates.

The island is a place for select clientele, to come by invitation only, and spend ‘Private Moments’.This was achieved thanks to the personal involvement of the founder/owner, who is himself a high-end, demanding traveller and a guest with his family. He is extremely passionate about his second home where he spends lot of time personally each year. Velaa island is unique in the context of the Maldives region; it offers its visitors experiences that are not to be had anywhere else in the Maldives.
