Location: Covent Garden London

3 Henrietta Street is a beautifully restored five floor building in the heart of Covent Garden. TGP took this building and transformed it into an all-day dining destination. A hub for locals and visitors alike, it is home to 4 concepts: Pivot, El Ta’koy, Lilly’s Café and coffee house favourite, The Gentlemen Baristas. Each floor of the townhouse was carefully restored and designed to give each level and each concept its own distinct character, whilst also preserving the original features and quirks that make the Grade 2 listed building so special.

Each restaurant space has been individually designed to create a different customer experience inspired by the chefs – Lilly’s Cafe has an astrological underscore whilst Pivot is a modern interpretation of the Victorian Dining Room. El Ta’Koy has taken its design inspiration from a modern take on a Polynesian Pacific aesthetic. The design had to truly work within the location and TGP worked closely with the Covent Garden Committee to integrate the different restaurants into a building with exceptional historical interest whist still retaining a modern contemporary feel. This also needed to compliment the wider Covent Garden environment.

The beauty of the project was creating a unique 4-restaurant and bar townhouse in the heart of Covent Garden. They worked with some great chefs to achieve a truly vertical integrated food offering from the Hawaiian-inspired El Ta’koy basement space, Lilly’s Café in the conservatory, The Gentlemen Baristas as the drawing room coffee house and Pivot occupying the upper ground floor with magnificent views of the main Covent Garden piazza.

It has an intrinsic charm expressed in its uniqueness and has been able to provide a contemporary aesthetic whilst playing homage to the design quirks of the original building.

It was designed with the location truly front of mind. The key attribute was to integrate the different restaurants into a grade 2 listed building with exceptional historical interest whist still retaining a modern contemporary feel.
