Alila Spa is located on the ground level of the Alila Marea Beach Resort located in Encinitas, California. There is a lobby, relaxation lounge and several treatment rooms.

The overriding principle of the design was to create a serene environment where guests can relax and forget about the outside world. The overall design integrates the natural surroundings by using finishes, fabrics and furniture inspired by the natural palette. The interiors have a muted natural palette taking inspiration from the beautiful and relaxing Pacific Ocean and coastline. The finishes are of a neutral palette in colours of the sand and dunes nearby. The fabrics used are soft and tactile; the custom furniture is made of driftwood-coloured woods and natural rattan.

The design of the Alila Spa works so well as it successfully creates a serene environment for guests to relax and enjoy their surroundings. Specialist artisan skills were used in this project with artists creating custom artwork for the serene relaxation lounge.
