ECOS is understated, fun, smart and offers guests an affordable luxury. The goal for Bishop Design was to create a Lifestyle Hotel that was revolutionised by smart technology, engaged guests, and continuously made guests feel comfortable and interactive in their surroundings.

Offering 314 guest rooms, all-day dining, rooftop pool, gym, laundry room, business hubs and coffee bar, the driving sentiment was to unify Dubai’s desirable ethos with the forward-thinking drive of the brand. Demonstrating flexible spaces and adhering to the demand to stay connected, it was imperative to provide comfortable seating, accessible workstations, and plenty of power in the design.

The wall murals on the façade of the building are an indication of the rest of the hotel. Visitors are consumed by a visually stimulating lobby, including a wall art tribute to the UAE’s recent accreditation of sending the first man to Mars. Geometric flooring connects colour components for a harmonious space. In the restaurant area, opulent greens are introduced alongside raw materials such as timber woods, with corrugated grey-stone cladding encapsulating zone defining pillars. Every element is complemented by brushed gold accents that elevate the luxury intent.

There is a minimalistic splendour that emits from each room. Bold integrated seating gives guests a personal workstation, and the piercing teal colour against the crisp white canvas alludes a freshness within the space. As a monochrome aesthetic continues, the same vivacious hues can be found in the en-suite bathrooms.

The hotel boasts an impressive array of “instagrammable” features, instigating a sense to wonder. A multitude of patterns, shapes, forms and textures are accentuated and balanced by the juxtaposition between vibrant and restrained colour palettes. The beauty of the design is in the accent pieces which flaunt a contemporary hint.
