House Waterfall Equestrian Estate by Lynne Blumberg Interior Design is a large property of around 10 hectares, that sits within a prestigious estate in Johannesburg. Following its recent redesign, it now has a balance of glamour and eclecticism in its interiors.

The client was very open about the design brief, leaving it mainly up to Lynne Blumberg Interior Design as designers to create a luxurious interior that was still one of a kind. The brief that was given to the designers was for the house to have an eclectic feel whilst still having relaxed glamour interiors. The clients also requested good art, an interesting mix of colour, luxurious rugs, and bespoke one-off pieces of furniture. It had to be interesting and comfortable, and filled with character. To achieve this, and add depth to the design scheme, all the furniture was specifically designed for this client using a myriad of finishes. These included marble, mirrors, woods, special lustred spray painted fished and an unusual mix of fabrics.

The home is a large French chateau country home designed in a chic, sophisticated style, with understated glamour and bold and exciting art and accessories. The space in the centre of the house was a large area that was bare and cold as an open space. Transforming this into a friendly and welcoming space, it is now filled with an intimate dining room, central marbled fireplace, grand piano, wine bar, and amazing art. This has become the heart of the home. Designed over 5 years, the home is still an ongoing project, as the clients decided to do the home slowly. The key aspect for Lynne Blumberg Interior Design was that throughout the redesign, this large home interior evolved into a warm, sophisticated, and stylish home with interesting elements.
