The Design Brief clearly focused on the creation of a bespoke St. Regis Bar with an elegant, yet contemporary setting inspired by the House of Astor. Guests are greeted by a dramatically lit wine room showcasing an abundant selection of world wines to satisfy the most demanding palates, with a modern interpretation of classic black and white marble flooring characterized by a dynamic geometric pattern, lures visitors into the main area, suffused with dim light to enhance the sturdy beauty of signature oak wood panels thoughtfully arranged throughout the entire space.

The bar is identified by an exquisite hand-painted mural, an iconic hallmark of each St. Regis back-bar. Taking local cues with a colourful palette, picturing lively sceneries of Macao traditional Chino-Portuguese legacy, created to showcase the sea-faring and architectural history of Macao, in sharp contrast with the intense green hue of the marble counter carved in neoclassical patterns. The central ceiling has been thoughtfully designed in a dramatic style with beautifully carved wooden patterns with an ambience that exudes a sense of majesty.

Venturing further inside the bar, a predominant dark olive shade echoes a refined colour palette, filling the velvety sofas and leather benches with a comfortable and composed feel. A robust wooden table pairs with custom-made chairs featuring refined metal details which define the lounge zone; on its lateral side, the turbine-shaped ceiling lighting delineates more private corners, where guests can indulge in quiet gatherings. A retro stage area features an elegant half tail piano, charming customers to enjoy their drink with rhythmic jazz improvisations. The secluded Decanter Rooms play with a stylish mixture of various colours and textures, tastefully combining Aegean blue velvets, tan leathers and oak veneered panels.

Inside, the designer emphasized the generous open space, creating a rich variety of zones and seating styles each varied and unique to offer distinctive experiences that work particularly well, culminating in an inviting respite.
