Bishop’s Lodge Auberge Resort, an iconic 1920’s ranch sprawled across 317 acres just beyond the outskirts of Santa Fe, New Mexico, stands as a testament to the region’s rich history and cultural heritage. Located a stone’s throw away from Santa Fe’s historic plaza and tracing its roots back to the 1860s when the first archbishop of Santa Fe constructed a chapel on the premises, Bishop’s Lodge Auberge Resort Collection pays homage to the past while embracing the area’s vibrant contemporary artistic culture. This luxurious haven, the first of its kind in the region, offers state-of-the-art accommodations following an arduous renovation process marked by pandemic-related challenges and numerous construction delays, culminating in its grand opening in July 2021.

The design of the resort draws inspiration from the centuries of unique history that have shaped New Mexico, from the ancient Navajo and Hopi tribes who have inhabited the land for millennia to the artists who have endeavored for generations to capture the enchanting interplay of light across the landscape.

Comprising 100 guestrooms, the resort includes Casitas, which offer three- and four-bedroom accommodations complete with living and dining areas, a fully equipped kitchen, and an expansive patio adorned with outdoor grilling facilities and comfortable lounge seating. Hispanic style permeates the rooms with traditional iron beds, leather club chairs, built-in bancos, and Kiva fireplaces. The materials employed throughout the design are inspired by the hues of the natural surroundings and the motifs of Native American artistry, capturing the essence of the locale.

Perched atop the foothills, commanding a breathtaking view of the valley, the Kiva Suites encapsulate the minimalist elegance and sculptural forms reminiscent of the adobe structures of ancient pueblos. These intimate lodges, meticulously crafted and curated, immerse guests in the essence of New Mexico, featuring outdoor soaking tubs, stone rain showers, freestanding copper-clad tubs, and indoor and outdoor Kiva fireplaces, all designed to create a harmonious blend of luxury and tranquility.
