THDP has recently completed an exceptional hotel interior design project, breathing new life into a cherished establishment in Sorrento. The hotel’s transformation aimed to create an informal and inviting check-in area while infusing the space with elegance and refined charm.

A welcoming living room ambiance was crafted in the waiting areas, featuring sinuous-shaped sofas and armchairs adorned with natural wood and marine-inspired fabrics in aqua green and ultramarine blue tones. The existing arches were artfully enhanced with bronze frames and showcases displaying a collection of locally crafted objects and artifacts amassed by the hotel owners over the past 50 years. The memorabilia collection takes inspiration from the Grand Tour era, during which Sorrento became an essential destination in the 19th century.

A new private event room was created, separated from the lobby by a double-sided fireplace, adorned with a magnificent chandelier featuring blown Murano glass waves by Italamp. The play of light and reflections in this space adds an unexpected touch of grandeur to the design.

The Oltremare lobby bar, accessible from the lobby through blue velvet drapes framing the arches, exudes a captivating charm. Custom wallpaper by Jannelli and Volpi adorns the bar’s walls, seamlessly extending the blue hues of the sea visible from the large terrace windows into the interior. This clever design choice immerses guests in the colors of the Mediterranean waters, creating a truly unforgettable experience.

The bar counter, a focal point of the design, boasts a natural brushed brass surface with a light dark patina, promising to develop beautiful nuances over time. Panels in bronze, brass, and ribbed glass artfully overlap to create a stunning backdrop for the bottles, forming an exquisite artwork. The domes in blue burnished bronze, adorned with gold leaf on the inside, add a touch of luxury and sophistication to the space.

Additionally, the bar includes a fixed DJ station to elevate the evenings with more social interactions and entertainment.

THDP’s innovative design approach has brilliantly transformed the hotel, infusing it with timeless elegance and capturing the essence of Sorrento’s allure. The blend of marine-inspired hues, luxurious materials, and thoughtfully curated artwork has created a truly immersive experience for the guests, making it an unforgettable destination in Sorrento’s hospitality landscape.
