Liaigre, the renowned design studio, has recently completed a stunning boutique hotel project in the heart of Tel Aviv – the R48 Hotel & Garden. This exclusive address, with its 11 suites, reflects the city’s sunny and festive character while staying true to Liaigre’s preference for noble and authentic materials. The design exudes a simple yet refined and sophisticated style, characterized by subtle details that are the hallmark of Liaigre’s signature.

Sensitive to Tel Aviv’s unique character, abundant light, and coastal location, Studio Liaigre approached the design with a seaside spirit. The hotel lobby, 11 suites, and rooftop have been meticulously crafted to convey a sense of refinement associated with the studio’s distinguished work.

Emphasizing a feeling of freshness and modernity while respecting Tel Aviv’s identity, the interior architecture and spatial layout are straightforward and purposeful. The project presented both pragmatic and sensitive challenges, as it involved working within a restored 1930s Bauhaus building – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Liaigre successfully navigated these constraints, preserving several original architectural details while infusing the space with sophistication and elegance, reminiscent of a private home.

The design also prioritizes environmental sustainability through the use of noble and durable materials, such as travertine slabs, characterful granite in the bathrooms, and exquisite woods like tulipwood, assamela, and walnut. Silk carpets and artisanal craftsmanship further contribute to the hotel’s unique charm.

From meticulously fitting spaces to designing bespoke furniture and lighting, as well as carefully selecting fabrics and accessories, Liaigre’s approach to this project is akin to haute couture – custom-made and prioritizing quality, ethics, and exceptional craftsmanship. Liaigre’s commitment to sustainable natural materials and artisanal know-how has been a guiding principle since the 1980s, making R48 Hotel & Garden a testament to their enduring dedication to creating exceptional, timeless spaces.
