Mercure Pantai Cenang, envisioned by Aprilist Associates, is more than a hotel—it’s a sanctuary embracing Langkawi’s extraordinary beauty. Located in Pantai Cenang, a popular beach destination, this once-abandoned building has been rejuvenated, aligning with Mercure’s brand image. The project pays tribute to Langkawi’s traditional craftsmen, incorporating their unique artistry into the hotel’s design.

The charming Pantai Cenang beach welcomes tourists worldwide. From the moment guests step into the lobby, contemporary décor infused with Malaysian touches sets a tranquil tone. Aprilist Associates have infused the space with stories of Pulau Langkawi, traditionally carved into wood or furniture, preserving this meaningful tradition throughout the hotel.

Pulau Langkawi’s intriguing past, including tales of notorious pirates, inspired the design of the guestrooms. Despite these stories, the rooms prioritise style and comfort, offering modern elegance with panoramic sea or mountain views, enhancing relaxation and rejuvenation.

Aprilist Associates’ collaboration with local craftsmen brings a unique touch to the hotel’s design. Each piece, carved with passion and heart, tells a story, making every element distinctive. This approach ensures the hotel’s design is both comfortable and modern, in line with Mercure’s standards.

The engagement with guests brings the design to life, allowing them to immerse themselves in Langkawi’s stories. By reintroducing the dying culture of Langkawi’s craftsmanship, Aprilist Associates not only enhances the hotel experience but also involves locals, making them feel part of the hotel culture. Through thoughtful design, they create a space where guests can escape the ordinary and embrace Langkawi’s extraordinary beauty.
