La Vie by Thomas Bühner, nestled within Taipei’s NOKE Mall, offers a fresh, contemporary European fine dining experience. The restaurant’s interior design, a close coordination effort between renowned chef Thomas Bühner and the designer, Kitzig Design Studios GmbH, pays homage to Taiwan’s breath-taking natural landscape. Drawing inspiration from the island’s mountains, rivers, seas, and forests, the culinary creations at La Vie are a testament to the rich tapestry of nature, farmers, and local producers.

The colour palette is inspired by the famous “Jinguashi” landscape in northern Taiwan with earthy greens, stones, blues and subtle gold. This palette not only reflects the island’s history and identity but also celebrates its boundless inspiration.

The design concept elegantly marries the urban and natural landscapes of Taiwan, embracing a timeless, contemporary, and architecturally refined aesthetic. Illuminated by warm, ambient lighting, the space exudes exclusivity, seamlessly balancing intimacy with an open, relaxed ambiance. Semi-transparent curtains and strategic use of carpets and ceiling sails create visual zones, further enhancing the dining experience.

At the heart of the design is the “glass kitchen”, a focal point that invites diners to witness the artistry behind each dish. While an expansive 5-meter-wide wine fridge showcases a curated selection of exquisite wines. The space features a reception area which is designed to captivate attention, seamlessly integrating with the overall aesthetic. A wine lounge, and a spacious dining room which boasts a vast glass façade leading to a terrace, adorned with semi-transparent curtains offering glimpses of the Miramar Ferris wheel. Complete with private dining sections for groups of four and eight, separated by mobile mirrored partitions.
