In her inaugural foray into hospitality design, Natalia Miyar has transformed a five-story Grade II listed former family home in Mayfair, London into The Twenty Two. This new hotel, aimed at the creative and curious, comprises 31 bedrooms and suites, a mews house, a restaurant, a member’s club, and a private dining room.

Drawing inspiration from 18th-century France, Natalia Miyar Atelier has crafted luxurious, maximalist interiors that perfectly embody hotel owner Navid Mirtorabi’s vision for a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. The design utilises rich velvets, piping and fringe, vintage crystal chandeliers, bevelled mirrors, and saturated colour themes to create spaces brimming with distinctive character and theme.

The restaurant at The Twenty Two is a testament to Miyar’s artistic vision, painted in three different shades of blue to accentuate the room’s architectural elements and its 19th-century panelling. Bespoke chandeliers made of handblown blue glass adorn the ceiling, adding a touch of elegance and originality.

The mews house at The Twenty Two features tented bedrooms inspired by the Napoleonic campaign style, with bespoke wallpaper and matching fabric that create a captivating optical illusion. The Heritage Suite, inspired by exotic landscapes, and the Terrace Suite, which uses red and black to nod to French historical themes, exemplify the thoughtful design approach taken throughout the hotel.

The six Fourth Floor Rooms at The Twenty Two juxtapose classical French décor with modern interpretations, covering every surface with patterns to create visually stunning spaces. The two Deluxe Rooms pay direct homage to Napoleon Bonaparte’s private rooms at Château de Malmaison, ensuring that each guest room offers a unique and historically rich experience.

With this project, Natalia Miyar Atelier has set a new standard in luxury hotel design, blending historical influences with contemporary flair to create an inviting sanctuary for guests in the heart of Mayfair. The Twenty Two stands as a testament to Miyar’s design prowess, offering a luxurious escape that caters to the creative and curious at heart.
