WATG & Wimberly Interiors have unveiled the Waldorf Astoria Lusail in Qatar, a masterful integration of luxury and architectural brilliance rising along Lusail’s pristine beachfront. Commissioned with the task of designing a stand-alone integrated resort destination, WATG took the lead in both architectural and landscape design, while Wimberly Interiors spearheaded the design of the illustrious ByWater restaurant.

The Waldorf Astoria Lusail, a testament to the renowned Waldorf Astoria brand, seamlessly blends sophistication with the local environment. Drawing inspiration from the sun-drenched urban resorts of Miami and LA, the resort stands as a beacon of elegance on Lusail’s beachfront.

The architectural design mirrors a journey or escape, with smoothly curved forms rising and falling elegantly. The upper level boasts expansive roof terraces, while the lifted podium level ensures shade and privacy. The promenade’s graceful curve leads to a striking lounge club with panoramic sea views, creating a versatile space that exudes relaxation during the day and transforms into a vibrant energy hub at night.

Central to the project is the ByWater restaurant, a harmonious integration of WATG’s architecture, landscape, and Wimberly Interiors’ expertise. Nestled within the circular space, the restaurant’s interiors mirror the curvaceous and sculptural essence of the building. A curved wall of glazing floods the space with natural light, inviting guests to gaze upon the terrace and pool, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Waldorf Astoria Lusail stands as a beacon of luxury, a testament to the collaborative efforts of WATG and Wimberly Interiors in redefining hospitality in the heart of Qatar.
