Waldo Works has brought its distinctive design approach to the restaurant interiors at Kimpton Main Frankfurt, creating a space that blends contemporary elegance with historical depth. As part of a wider commission that included the hotel’s public areas, guest rooms, and amenities, Waldo Works was tasked with crafting restaurant spaces that reflect the brand’s eclectic and approachable identity while offering a clear and memorable character of their own.

At the heart of this vision is ANNI, a brasserie style restaurant inspired by the heritage of European grand cafés and New York’s traditional Italian eateries. Waldo Works infused the space with a cosmopolitan warmth, honouring the hotel’s location on the historic site of the former Deutsche Bank headquarters while interpreting Bauhaus style through a modern lens.

The restaurant’s design balances bold geometry with refined craft. Black and white tiled floors, a tribute to the iconic textile artist Anni Albers, set a graphic foundation for the interior. Overhead, unique pendant lights cast ambient glows, creating intimate zones within the open space. Portraits of influential cultural figures line the walls, adding a curated, personal layer that invites guests to linger and explore.

Waldo Works succeeded in delivering a restaurant that resonates with both local history and global influences. The design maintains a dialogue with the rest of the hotel through shared design language while standing confidently on its own. ANNI is more than a dining venue, it is a space where bold design, rich texture, and timeless inspiration come together. With ANNI, Waldo Works continues to define a new standard for hospitality design, where every element tells a story and every corner invites connection.
