Carbone Vino Coconut Grove is a masterful creation by Bishop Design, seamlessly blending old-world Italian nostalgia with contemporary luxury. Tasked with capturing the essence of Carbone’s New York heritage while embracing the cultural vibrancy of South Florida, Bishop Design delivered an immersive dining and design experience.

Rich materials, moody lighting, and intricate detailing evoke the charm of a classic Italian enoteca, while polished brass accents and jewel-toned upholstery inject modern energy. Signature elements such as red-and-blue checkered flooring, patinated metal coffered ceilings, and bespoke dining chairs pay homage to Carbone’s original aesthetic. Each space balances theatricality and intimacy, ensuring a dynamic yet cohesive ambiance.

A key feature of the design is the curated artwork which showcases the discerning eye of both designers and renowned gallerist Vito Schnabel. Works by Julian Schnabel and René Ricard enhance the venue’s storytelling, merging art and design into a cultural narrative. Custom furnishings, from plush velvet banquettes to artisan-crafted chandeliers, exemplify the perfect fusion of form and function.

The pièce de résistance is the bar—an illuminated centerpiece that radiates charisma and sophistication. From artisanal lighting in the Private Dining Room to wine displays, every element reflects precision and purpose. By juxtaposing the grit and glamour of New York with the breezy sophistication of Coconut Grove, Bishop Design has created an iconic space that is both transformative and deeply rooted in its surroundings.
