Studio Shayne Brady has unveiled a refined transformation of the Gallery at The Savoy, blending historic grandeur with a modern sensibility to create a versatile space that serves guests throughout the day. Tasked with reimagining this iconic venue, Studio Shayne Brady delivered a concept that honours The Savoy’s legacy while offering a fresh, elegant experience tailored to today’s guest. From breakfast through to post theatre drinks, the redesigned Gallery now offers a seamless transition between moments, moods and time of day.

Studio Shayne Brady approached the project with sensitivity to the building’s heritage and an eye for contemporary refinement. A central white marble catwalk was introduced to echo the hotel’s famous foyer, guiding guests through the space while creating intimacy for seated areas. Serving as a thoroughfare to the Beaufort Bar and River Restaurant, the layout was carefully planned to balance flow with comfort. To manage lighting and create adaptable ambience, a custom dome lighting system was installed after closing off the existing light well. This allows the room to shift gracefully from the bright energy of morning to the soft elegance of evening.

The interiors are a masterclass in detail and craftsmanship. Heritage listed murals of a 1912 couple who hosted the world’s first dinner dance are reimagined as silhouettes animating the walls, offering a poetic link between past and present. Bespoke chandeliers and floor lamps reinterpret traditional forms, while plush furniture in tones of blush, ochre and pink add warmth. Pale burl timber introduces a sense of refined modernity. Hand forged wrought iron gates now define the Gallery, elevating it from a passageway to a destination.

Studio Shayne Brady completed this intricate renovation around the demands of a fully operational hotel, and the result is a timeless space that resonates with elegance, history and contemporary charm.
