Studio Moren has completed a dynamic and layered interior design project that unites three distinct hospitality experiences under one roof: Hyde London City hotel, the ground-floor restaurant Leydi, and the subterranean cocktail bar Black Lacquer. Each venue has been designed with a unique identity, offering independent access while maintaining a sense of cohesive storytelling throughout the building.

At the heart of this project is Leydi, a modern Turkish restaurant inspired by the rich architectural and cultural layers of Istanbul. With its own street entrance and separate character, Leydi was envisioned by Studio Moren as a standalone dining destination that remains spiritually connected to the hotel. The interior features a series of triple timber arches that add rhythm and intimacy to the space, while pendant lighting and lush planting contribute to a warm and inviting atmosphere.

In response to Ennismore’s brief to create a restaurant that fosters connection and celebrates the energy of food, Studio Moren placed the open kitchen at the centre of the dining room. This design decision dissolves the traditional boundaries between chefs and diners, transforming the act of cooking into a vibrant and integral part of the guest experience.

One of the standout features is a bespoke chandelier that reinterprets traditional design in a contemporary way, paying homage to the building’s legacy as the first hotel in London to feature electric lighting. Other key elements include ceramic tiling and rich textures that reflect Istanbul’s heritage, while remaining firmly rooted in London’s modern dining scene.

By blending hospitality with artistry and activating the street frontage, Studio Moren has crafted a space that not only attracts hotel guests but also engages the local community with style and substance.
